Natural beta-carotene contains additional antioxidant carotenoids, alpha-carotene, zeaxanthin, lutein, as well as cryptoxanthin naturally found in sea algae (duanellia). The function of beta-carotene is to neutralize the harmful effects of free radicals on the body. Moreover, it is especially recommended during the spring and summer periods because it supports the protection of the skin against the harmful effects of ultraviolet rays. Additionally, provitamin A is used in ophthalmology; its intake improves vision and prevents night blindness.
