Caprylic acid (Acidum caprylicum) is a saturated fatty acid. It occurs in plant fats (coconut, palm) and animal fats (from Latin capro – goat, e.g., in the reserve fat (tallow) of goats and sheep, in the milk fat of rabbits, goats, chamois). It was popularized as a dietary supplement by Dr. William Crook, author of the popular book "The Yeast Connection."
It helps regulate the growth of yeast fungi and maintain the natural balance of microorganisms in the large intestine, without interfering with the proliferation of bacteria essential for health.
